The Rotary Club of Bedford proudly welcomed its newest member, Jim McIntire, during a special induction ceremony filled with fellowship and celebration. Jim’s sponsor, Victor Tom, shared highlights of Jim's background and accomplishments. He grew up in New England and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Southern New Hampshire University. He later completed a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement Administration from Anna Maria College. Jim honorably served for more than 32 years as a Melrose Police Officer before retiring. He and his wife, Shuqing, now live in Bedford, not far from fellow Rotarians Tom and Christine, Sze-Wen and Karen, and Ralph — a reflection of the close-knit community that defines the club. In retirement, Jim enjoys reading, hiking, and playing ping-pong.

Tom Pinney, Club President, formally recognized that Jim had been invited to join because he exemplifies the character, leadership, and professional expertise that define the spirit of Rotary. The club remains dedicated to serving others, promoting integrity, and advancing world understanding, and Jim’s lifelong commitment to public service aligns strongly with these values. In a meaningful symbolic gesture, Victor Tom placed the Rotary emblem on Jim’s lapel, a pin to be worn with pride as a sign of commitment to Rotary’s ideals.

With the pinning complete, Jim McIntire was formally admitted into membership in the Rotary Club of Bedford and, by extension, into the fellowship of Rotary International. With dedicated leaders like Jim McIntire joining its ranks, the Rotary Club of Bedford continues to grow stronger in its mission of service, integrity, fellowship, and community impact.
