On Tuesday, March 25th we welcomed Bedford FR Fire and Life Safety Educator Dana Park and Captain John Daniels to our meeting to speak to use about their Elder Safe Home visits. We are proud to support the Bedford Fire Department by helping to fund the purchase of battery-powered smoke and carbon monoxide alarms for senior residents (65+). These alarms are provided to residents at no cost to help ensure every home is protected!

Fire & Life Safety Educator Dana Park conducts home safety visits, where he often finds outdated alarms that no longer detect smoke or carbon monoxide effectively. Many seniors live in older homes and may struggle to afford new alarms. Thanks to this program, Dana installs 1-3 new alarms per visit and replaces batteries to keep seniors safe—without them having to climb ladders.

With around 20 home visits per year, this initiative makes a real difference in preventing emergencies and saving lives.

Safety starts at home. If you or a loved one needs a new smoke/CO alarm, contact the Bedford Fire Department today! To schedule a visit please contact the Fire Department business line (781) 275-7262 ext. 4202.
