Despite bitterly cold weather, the Upper Fellowship Hall at First Church was nearly full on January 28 as neighbors gathered for another successful Bedford Community Dinner. Volunteers from Middlesex Savings Bank prepared and served a hearty pasta meal, offering guests a choice of baked ziti or vegetable alfredo, accompanied by garlic bread—comforting fare that warmed both bodies and spirits.

The evening began with an engaging and informative fraud-prevention presentation by representatives from Middlesex Savings Bank. Attendees learned about current scam trends and common red flags to watch for in everyday financial situations. The practical guidance sparked thoughtful questions and left many guests feeling better informed and empowered to protect themselves and their families.

With a near full house and lively conversation at every table, the January dinner clearly fulfilled the Community Dinners' mission: bringing neighbors together for nourishment, connection, and learning.

The Rotary Club of Bedford extends sincere thanks to Middlesex Savings Bank for serving as the first sponsor-host of the Community Dinner series. Our next Community Dinner will take place on February 25, hosted by the Rotary Club of Bedford, and will feature a classic turkey dinner—perfect for a winter evening. Sign up to help out! Guests are also invited to continue the night at the Bedford Free Public Library, which will be showing free movies beginning at approximately 6:45 pm, coinciding with the end of dinner.

We welcome other organizations and businesses interested in sponsoring or volunteering at future dinners. For more information, please contact bedford.rotary@gmail.com. Donations to help cover the cost of future meals are also appreciated; full details can be found at our Community Dinners page.

A special thank you to First Church of Christ, Congregational, for generously providing the venue and helping make these gatherings possible. We look forward to continuing this meaningful community tradition for years to come.
