Permagardens
Permagardens – a creative and proven combination of permaculture with bio-intensive gardening – makes it possible for a family to grow all the nutritious vegetables they need in a four-meter by four-meter square, including during dry seasons and droughts. Vitamin A-rich vegetables prevent stunting in children. It takes families away from unsustainable markets for food, while surpluses can be sold to pay for school fees, medicines, and other household essentials. Working in multiple countries in Africa and in India, The Permagardens Foundation trains people – more than 80% of them women – to become self-sufficient and attain food sovereignty.
Besides being Board Chair of The Permagardens Foundation – www.permagardens.earth – David Albert was also the founder of Friendly Water for the World.
