The Bedford Community Dinners are hosted by the Rotary Club of Bedford to bring people together through shared meals. Inspired by the pre-COVID community dinners once hosted by the Bedford Food Pantry, these events are about more than food—they’re about connection, kindness, and belonging. Whether you’re looking for a night off from cooking, a chance to meet others, or simply a friendly space to be yourself, you’ll find a seat at our table.
FAQsWho can come to the Community Dinners? Do I have to pay? When and where are the dinners held? Is this a religious event? How do I find the entrance? Where should I park?
Do I need to bring anything? Are the meals sit-down or take-out? Who organizes the dinners? |

Apr 28, 2026 1:00 PM
Avive partners with organizations to develop and implement revolutionary AED programs that target Sudden Cardiac Arrest. We have made great strides in developing technology that is easier to use, easier to manage from an admin point of view, and the only fully connected AED that works with 911 dispatch. Our AED bridges the massive gap between Sudden Cardiac Arrest and hospital treatment by providing never-before-available information instantly after a rescue. Here is a recent article about a partnership with a Rotary Club in Northern KY: https://www.avive.life/cus

America's Circular Economy
May 19, 2026 1:00 AM
NOTE: this meeting will be at The Residence, 240 South Rd Every week, we throw things away without a second thought. Food scraps, broken cellphones, worn-out products — into the bin they go. But what if the way we throw things away is costing our community money, growing our landfills, and polluting the places we love — and there's a better way that actually makes economic sense? Our speaker today has made it his mission to teach communities this opportunity to live a healthier and happier life. Ed Tivnan is America's first certified Professional Facilitator of the French Circular Economy Collage — a credential he earned in October 2025. He is a former high school biology teacher with 14 years in the classroom. He is also President of the Clipper City Toastmasters. |

Permagardens
Jun 16, 2026 1:00 PM
Permagardens – a creative and proven combination of permaculture with bio-intensive gardening – makes it possible for a family to grow all the nutritious vegetables they need in a four-meter by four-meter square, including during dry seasons and droughts. Vitamin A-rich vegetables prevent stunting in children. It takes families away from unsustainable markets for food, while surpluses can be sold to pay for school fees, medicines, and other household essentials. Working in multiple countries in Africa and in India, The Permagardens Foundation trains people – more than 80% of them women – to become self-sufficient and attain food sovereignty. Besides being Board Chair of The Permagardens Foundation – www.permagardens.earth – David Albert was also the founder of Friendly Water for the World. "To forget how to dig the earth and to tend the soil is to forget ourselves." - M.K. Gandhi |
